Chandlings hosts the Inter-Schools Cross Country

18 schools, 600 children and Storm Ciara.  It was no mean feat this year to get the cross country course ready for all the schools who annually take part in this very competitive run.  However, thanks to the fantastic ground staff and the sports department, the day ran like clockwork.

It was bitterly cold, not a day for the faint-hearted, but the 18 different schools across Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire all arrived with boys and girls ranging from 8 to 11 years ready to run.

Superb runs by all Chandlings pupils resulting in good overall positions for boys and girls. Particular mention must got to the Year 3 girls team and Year 6 boys teams with a stand out performance from Dom in Year 6 which resulted in a podium finish.

Congratulations to all the runners who took part from all the schools.

Putting on an event like this is a huge team effort and thanks must go to all the staff who marshalled, handed out race numbers, indicated race positions, provided refreshments and first aid. Special thanks goes to Mr Maskrey and his team for help with traffic solutions  and preparation of our grounds and the course considering the awful weather! Ms Wells for her techno spreadsheet without which results the old fashioned way, would have taken an extra 20 minutes!
