Art and DT
Whether working in our lovely Orangery Art room or safely exploring our idyllic School grounds, our children are encouraged to develop their creativity and imagination through the visual, tactile and sensory qualities of materials.
Taught by a specialist teacher, our children learn the role of art, craft and design in their environment and are introduced to artists and their working methods.
Through hands-on activities, children develop an understanding of colour, shape, space, pattern and texture, all helping them to represent their individual ideas and feelings. They also work in three dimensions with clay and recycled materials, develop both their observational and imaginative drawing, and explore painting, printmaking, and textile techniques.
Our Music Department is a lively, dynamic and uplifting area of the School where you’ll always find pupils keenly rehearsing for performances at one of the many music events taking place throughout the year.
Our children are enthused with a love of music right from their first days here. And, as they progress through our Pre-Prep, they benefit from expert teaching by our specialist music teachers, led by our inspirational Director of Music, Mr Andrew Stratford.
