Philosophy and Classics
Philosophy lessons offer a valuable opportunity for our children to explore their own opinions and learn how to discuss a topic sensibly. We use pictures, stories and quotes to encourage an imaginative discussion which helps promote thinking skills and independent thought. In addition, we spend time studying different philosophers, making fact-files about their lives, and investigating their philosophies.
During Classical Studies lessons, our children study aspects of life in ancient Rome and Greece. This includes looking at myths and legends as a means of understanding what it meant to be a citizen living in 5th Century Athens and 79 AD Rome.
